Stylized Hydrangea
Artist

Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
Another quick and loose piece painted with Sennelier paints and products, this piece was a test of the company's Prussian and Ultramarine blues with various mixes. The original is 12"x16" in size and is painted on Sennelier 140# cold-pressed paper. The paper seems to have bit less tooth to it compared to the Arches equivalent I have been using although there is still a really nice interaction between these paints and the paper.

What an awesome twist on the Hydrangea. I love the way you hit the blues with change ups between warm and cool colors. But the composition is really fun and unexpected. I like the florals you have been doing latelyl

Thank you Sandra! I have been having a lot of fun with these recent floral works!

Very nice! Love the Prussian blue.
Ken Powers replied:
Thanks Jason! I might be addicted to Prussian blue so I have to only use it every once in a while!

This one just jumps off the page with the particular color combo!!! And the subtle value shifts!!!

Beautiful, Ken! I especially like your color combination this time. Great contrasts & highlights, too.

A very pleasing and skifully handled watercolour. Have to admire your focus! Brilliant artwork!
