What a beautiful job you did on that glass knob. I just don't know how you water color artists accomplish what you do...

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Sharon! You are too kind!

Reminds me of a glass doorknob at my grandma's house. Your work is like a visual scrapbook of precious memories.

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Bonnie! I definitely like things that have a history!

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Faraz! This one and my other door knob painting were truly exercises in perspective and the challenges it can create!

Another superb piece of art from one of the best on FAA. I like that the screws on the plate are two regular and two phillips head. Shows that someone has had to work on it or painted it and like so many of us, they lost the original screws.

Thank you for your comments on my Rocks painting, Ken. I appreciate the time you took to write. I like to tap in multiple colors in rocks, and let either salt or Epsom salts develop some texture. I think your Glass Door Knob and Passage Lock painting is my favorite of your work...a little mysterious with the door ajar (what's on the other side?) and you did a lovely job on the shadow and crystal door knob. Warm Regards, Teresa

Had Walt Disney seen this I think he would have hired you on the spot. The design works; lots of interest and action, from the cast shadow, to how the door is just ajar (which creates tension), to the angles of the brass plates . Nothing is left to doubt, but it's not overly labored. The glass crystal knob itself is just the bonus in this expertly conceived and executed piece. A crowd pleaser and a show winner, I think.
